Our office sits at 1420 Rollins Ave SE, and our seven buildings are all within about a mile of it. We didn't pick this stretch of Southeast Minneapolis by accident — it's the sweet spot between campus energy and an actual neighborhood.
Dinkytown
The heart of it all is a short walk away.
Dinkytown has been the U of M's front porch for generations — coffee shops that stay open through finals week, late-night food when the library kicks you out, bookstores, and enough foot traffic that you'll run into someone you know most days. Most Elmwood residences are close enough to walk it without a second thought.
Getting Around
You don't need a car here.
East Bank campus is a 15 to 20 minute walk, or a quick bike ride, from most Elmwood buildings. If the weather has other plans, the Metro Transit bus stops right at the corner and connects you across campus and into the rest of the city. Covered bike racks are on-site at our properties for the days you'd rather pedal.
Parks & Recreation
Green space and game days, both close by.
Van Cleve Park anchors the SE Como side of the neighborhood — tennis courts, open field, a rec center, and a genuinely good place to decompress between classes. On the sports side, you're within easy reach of Bierman Field Athletic Complex, U.S. Bank Stadium, and Mariucci Arena, so game day doesn't require a road trip.
Daily Life
The errands take care of themselves.
Convenience stores and everyday shopping are close enough that you won't need to plan a special trip. Families in the neighborhood also have the U of M daycare center just one block from several of our buildings — a small detail that matters a lot if it applies to you.
